Dog Daycare & Kennel Services in Denver

Dog Daycare & Kennel Services in Denver

Located inside a shelter that houses up to 650 people, our program serves the unhoused community in Denver. Every dog gets a clean space, steady supervision, and a daily routine that keeps them balanced. We don't settle for the basics—each dog receives focused attention, daily enrichment, and careful tracking of their behavior and health.

A Job-First Model That Builds Skills and Stability

This isn't just dog care. It's a vocational program. Owners volunteer to have their dogs in daycare, and in return, they learn the business. They clean kennels, train dogs, groom dogs, and gain real-world skills that can lead to employment.

Staff don't just watch dogs—they guide them, track their needs, and teach owners how to do the same. Our PACFA-licensed facility runs on clear protocols, and every step from drop-off to pickup is designed for safety and comfort.

  • Safe Kennel Spaces: Each dog gets a kennel sized for comfort, with fresh bedding and water, plus a kennel card that tracks their care throughout the day.
  • Supervised Group Play: Playgroups are introduced with care, and staff stay present to keep things calm and prevent problems before they start.
  • Daily Enrichment Activities: Toys, structured routines, and planned rest periods keep dogs engaged and help burn off energy in healthy ways.
  • Vaccination Compliance: Only dogs with current Parvo, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccines are admitted, and Rabies shots must be up to date from a licensed vet.
  • Secure Intake Procedures: Every arrival gets a paper-collar ID, and after-hours check-ins follow strict quarantine steps to protect the group.

Dogs don't get left to figure things out. Staff guide every interaction, adjust routines as needed, and keep energy levels in check. This approach means fewer incidents and calmer, happier dogs.

Daily Tracking That Keeps Dogs Healthy

When routines matter, details can't slip through the cracks. Each dog's day is logged. Meals, bathroom breaks, medication, and behavior all get tracked. If something shifts, staff catch it and act fast.

  • Feeding Logs: Every meal is recorded, including timing and any changes in appetite or eating habits.
  • Potty Logs: Bathroom breaks are tracked to spot early signs of stress or digestive trouble.
  • Medication Logs: Doses are given on schedule and logged, so nothing gets missed or doubled.
  • Behavioral Observations: Staff note how each dog interacts, adapts to routines, and handles transitions during the day.

This level of attention means owners get real updates, not vague reports. Dogs with medical needs or behavior quirks benefit most. Staff spot changes early and keep everyone in the loop.

Training That Builds a Team

Staff and volunteers learn more than just the basics. They practice hands-on kennel care, run safety drills, and update routines as new challenges come up.

Some staff join us through Wizard of Paws vocational training, gaining real-world experience in kennel management and dog care as part of a structured apprenticeship. This approach builds a team that cares about doing things right, not just getting through a shift.

Our Work Supports More Than Dogs

As part of Over the Rainbow Project, our program does more than provide pet care. We offer behavioral health services, life-skills training, and vocational programs that benefit both people and animals. This creates opportunities for growth and connection that reach beyond the kennel walls.

Right now, we serve the unhoused community in our shelter. In the future, we hope to open our services to people throughout the Denver area.
